We’re looking for the unapologetic bold poet who disrupts the norm. If you’ve got something to say and aren’t afraid to say it, you might be 1 of the 8 voices we need for Season 1 of Extended Mic.
What we’re doing
This collab between Extended Mic and Poesy will give you a jaw-dropping platform that’ll make people stop and look. We’re redefining what poetry looks and feels like in a world flooded with filters. We are bringing real art back.
The goal? To ignite conversation, challenge perspectives, and create art that hits like a mot*er *ucker.

About the poetry
We are looking to change minds and bring meaningful art in a world saturated with shallow art. We are poets and we want to change the world. We write poetry that talks about the core of the human experience and the whole of society and humanity while focusing on a perspective of growth, optimism and change. We talk about things beyond usual topics of poetry.
Of course, we also want people to look twice.

Disclaimer: If you’re chosen for Extended Mic, this isn’t just a quick performance – it’s a full creative experience designed to elevate your poetry career and push your artistry further. Here’s a breakdown of what’s in store:
Promo Videos & Photoshoots:
You’ll participate in multiple shoots, each designed to capture your unique style and energy. We’ll be creating teaser trailers, behind-the-scenes clips, and promo reels that highlight your creative process and personality. Your story matters just as much as your poetry.
Production & Filming Schedule:
On-set filming for your main performance piece. Professional lighting, sound, and cameras will be there to capture every breath, every pause, every word. Bring your A-game.
Creative Collaboration:
Before filming, you’ll join collaborative workshops with our creative team and other poets to share the season’s theme and narrative. Get feedback from directors, poets and mentors to refine your piece for maximum impact.
Social Media Features:
We’ll be rolling out each poet’s story across our platforms – IG, Youtube, and TikTok – with curated content that aligns with your personal brand.
In short? This is more than a performance. It’s an opportunity to immerse yourself in a creative ecosystem where your voice will be amplified, your face will be recognized, and your poetry will leave a lasting impact.
