Hi, my name is Mariana. I am a poet, creative, and the creator of Extended Mic. I believe that for the longest time, music, photography, film, paintings, and other forms of art have easily gained attention as the world modernizes the way we consume art. Poetry, however, has always been confined to a book, a text, or a photo—and that’s it.
As part of Poesy’s group of poets, I have discovered firsthand the impact poetry has on people’s lives. Every time we write a personalized poem for someone, they are absolutely mind-blown by poetry and its’ impact. This realization showed me that people love this art form but lack exposure to it.
Extended Mic comes from the idea of having a long mic cord surrounding the poets presence throughout the stage and furniture and then landing in front of the poets face, in all of our videos across all seasons, with a different editorial set per season. Serving as part of the visual identity of Extended Mic, it symbolizes as well the action of poets passing the mic to other poets to speak to the world.

Our production operates per seasons. Our first season consists of 8 videos of 2-3min with a unique editorial set, providing poetry with excellence, playfulness and newness to the viewer. You’ll be able to find this videos on our Youtube Channel.

ouR partnership
We are a brand and agency partnering with the purpose of bringing a high-quality digital platform for poets, increasing humility and humanity through words. We aim to film in studios around the world and bring this opportunity to poets across the globe.
This project came to life by Extended Mic and Poesy with the hopes of disrupting traditional poetry formats and bringing a new perspective to the world, by mixing videography, visual arts and poetry.
Our impact
Together, Poesy and us aim to shine a light on poetry in a way that hasn’t been explored before, providing a high-quality audiovisual experience and meaningful poems as a way to rebel against shallow art.
To us, poetry is about connection, a shift in perspective, and relatability to the human experience. We are the new wave of poets—creating new experiences, breaking rules, and taking an important role in the transformation of poetry.
